CMO Aenova says demand for contract manufacturing capacity in Europe is increasing.

CEO Heiner Hoppmann told Outsourcing-pharma.com that: “We see a very clear trend that customers want to come back to Europe from Asia.”

He also spoke about developments at the manufacturing facility in Lyon, France that Aenova leased from Skypharma in August this year.

We decided to set up a new pilot plant for pellet manufacturing that will start operations early next year,” Hoppman said, explaining that this was the missing part of Aenova’s extended-release technology offering.

He went on to say that the firm has transferred two co-development projects to Lyon and is in talks about the first new customer project that will be conducted at the site, predicting that they could quintuple the amount of work carried out there.
